The ability to see in the dark hours is an important feature of any CCTV system, whether it be through visible light such as halogen, metal halide, SON lighting or non-visible lighting which is known as Infra Red.

Infra Red lighting has become even more important since April 2005 when the new Clean Neighbourhoods and Environments Act received Royal Assent meaning visible light sources were included in the list of statutory nuisances. We all now have to consider when installing a CCTV system, whether the lighting could be a nuisance to our neighbours.

If you need to monitor vehicle traffic,

Moore Secure can now supply and

install Derwent's REG™, their unique

numberplate capture units are designed

to capture plates 24/7, whether it is a

sunny day or a moonless night!

At Moore Secure we offer a wide range of cameras with Infra Red built in and also external lamps to illuminate a scene separately. Such lamps include standard bulbs or new LED systems (shown below)

"Without Infra-Red dark night-time scenes remain dark to CCTV cameras, pictures will suffer from shadows, signal noise and loss of focus."
